Community engagement

Within planning there is an ever-increasing focus upon community engagement. Indeed, the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) now advises that ‘applications that can demonstrate early, proactive and effective engagement with the community should be looked on more favourably than those that cannot’.

We can design a communications plan to support your proposal including engagement with nearby neighbours, town or parish councils and locally elected councillors. This will be tailored to the scale of your project and the significance of the impacts it will be likely to generate. Our experience is that through a carefully considered and inclusive approach to development, opposition to proposals can be significantly reduced, helping to ease their passage through the planning process.
