Neighbourhood planning
Neighbourhood Plans once ‘made’ form part of the development plan and their policies become part of the decision-making framework to which Local Planning Authorities adhere. They are an increasingly popular and powerful tool for communities to take back control of how planning operates within their community area.
The process of preparing a neighbourhood plan is complex and requires a robust evidence base to support and justify the policies of the plan. We can assist in developing the evidence base, building consensus amongst stakeholders and the drafting and publication of the plan. We can project manage the process in close liaison with the community driving the plan, working with the Local Planning Authority to see it through to the examination and publication of the examiner’s recommendations and subsequent referendum.
